Just been talking to my friend and she was reading about the new things happening at Animal Kingdom, I must say they look lovely.

One is the river of light which I will try and find some info on and this new after dark show called night time Awakening
This is what Disney have said about this wonderful show.

Nighttime Awakenings – Opening May 27, 2016!

Watch in wonder as animal spirits within the great tree come alive at night in mesmerizing color and light.

During the evening hours, pay special attention to the Tree of Life at the center of Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. At various times, flickering fireflies magically appear and awaken the wondrous animals spirits carved into the tree’s towering trunk—bringing to light a stunning visual extravaganza swarming with vivid color and animated imagery.

Witness a graceful young doe embark on a thrilling cross-country journey. Behold love blossoming between 2 hummingbirds. See a spry fox spreading gifts of love among the denizens of a wintry forest. A feast for the eyes, each approximately 3-minute-long revelation celebrates the eternal balance and harmony that exists in all living things, big or small, and is sure to inspire and delight the entire family, big and small.

I cannot wait to go over and see this. If anyone is lucky enough to go soon please share your experience
Mary

Sounds enchanting. Something to look forward to next time.

we took the walk (Pangani trail) next to the Safari this ride and found it so much more than when we last did it several years ago. Although I don't like seeing the apes in captivity. The walk was nice.

Has anyone seen the new Nighttime Awakenings?

Sadly we have not been to the villa since it opened, I would love to hear what it is like.

The River of light sounds special as well.

I must admit my favourite is the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom.

Hope some one can tell us all about the new attractions.

Sounds wonderful Mary, thanks reminding us as I have guests visiting me at home tomorrow who travel out next month and I'll tell them about it.  Even though it has been going for over a year I bet it is magical. xxx

We really enjoyed night time awakenings. Not only do you have 2 or 3 different light shows playing on the Tree of Life but in between the shows, certain animals that are carved in to the bark appear to come alive just by moving slightly, a very clever show.
We also enjoyed the Rivers of Light, a very gentle show with boats gliding around the water and a very colourful spectacle. Both are well worth seeing.

Thank you for the update, I am really looking forward to seeing this now, more than I was and that was pretty excited.

When we were over in May there was a new firework show at Magic Kingdom replacing the old Wishes fireworks. I thought the fireworks could not get much better than Wishes but these really are quite spectacular, well worth seeing and they have still managed to find a place in the show for Tinkerbell to fly!

I didn't think anything would out do Wishes, sounds like it has.  Well done Disney! xxx
